The Learning Shelter at
the Smith Homestead

Thank you for your interest in renting our facilities. Due to reduced staff capacity and increased visitation to the Smith Homestead Day-use Area and surrounding recreation facilities, we have made the determination to suspend all facility rentals until further notice. This includes rentals of the Community Room at the Tillamook Forest Center. We will continue to reevaluate our facility rental program in the future to determine if we are able to support a facility rentals going forward. No reservation requests will be accepted.

While the Forest Learning Shelter building remains closed, the Smith Homestead Day-use Area is open for public access. For current information on other Tillamook State Forest recreation facilities (campgrounds, day-use areas, and trails), please visit the recreation list on the ODF website.

We wish you all the very best in your event planning.

Please also note that the Tillamook Forest Center will be closed for the remainder of the 2021 season. This closure is in place to help limit exposure to COVID-19 and to protect our entire community, to comply with state office closures, and to allow us time to rebuild our staff. We anticipate reopening in March 2022. For updates, please follow us on Facebook, or send us an email to join our newsletter mailing list. Staff are available to answer questions and can be reached by email during the closure. We appreciate your patience as we make our way through this time of transition.
